Helen Pain made permanent RSC chief executive as Paul Bate becomes UK Space Agency head
Helen Pain has been made permanent chief executive of the Royal Society of Chemistry, having held the position temporarily, while Paul Bate has been appointed the next CEO of the UK Space Agency.
Pain has been at the helm of the learned society since January 2020, when the previous chief executive, Robert Parker, temporarily reduced his responsibilities and working hours to undergo a double hip replacement. He subsequently left the role in December 2020.
