Do not lose sight of progress on R&D, UK PM candidates told

Campaign group urges Truss and Sunak to match other nations’ higher level of funding ambition

The next UK prime minister should follow through on the government’s spending commitments and set out a full budget trajectory for R&D, a leading science campaign group has urged.

In a blog post published last week, Daniel Rathbone, assistant director of the Campaign for Science and Engineering (Case), welcomed recent progress made on R&D, including a three-year spending review allocation, a long-term settlement for national funder UK Research and Innovation and an increase in departmental R&D budgets.
