UK Biobank releases ‘largest’ ever cache of genomic data

   

Release of genomic data from 200,000 people aims to help researchers identify treatments for diseases

UK Biobank has released whole genome sequencing data from 200,000 participants to boost genetics health research in what it says is the largest single release of genomic data in the world.

The data have been released through the UK Biobank Whole Genome Sequencing project to help researchers identify new treatments for cancer, heart disease and dementia.
