Defence agency to create AI and data science unit in Newcastle

       

Unit will aim to address shortage of data analytics skills and help companies exploit data

The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) has announced the creation of an artificial intelligence and data science unit in Newcastle.

The unit will be based at the National Innovation Centre for Data, which is supported by Newcastle University, and will seek to address a shortage of data analytics skills in the UK and help companies and organisations to better utilise data.
