The UK government must improve its support for late-stage R&D or risk losing out on its science superpower ambition, an influential group of engineers has warned.

In a new report, Late-stage R&D: business perspectives, the National Engineering Policy Centre argues that the socio-economic benefits that result from late-stage R&D mean there is a compelling case for the public sector to support it better.
