Glasgow team raises concerns over big tech regulation

         

UK policy agenda is still “blind” to certain dangers of online platforms

A research team at the University of Glasgow has warned that the UK is still blind to key issues in the regulation of big online companies such as Google and Facebook.

Their work analysed how eight government and parliamentary reports and inquiries between September 2018 and February 2020 dealt with issues such as online harms, cybercrime and the regulation of social media platforms.
