Survey: Covid-19 ‘spurred business innovation in UK’

Third of businesses cite pandemic as major reason for innovating, but pandemic also presented barriers

The Covid-19 pandemic contributed to an increase in innovation activity among UK businesses, a new survey has suggested.

According to the latest UK Innovation Survey, which covers the period 2018-20, innovation activity increased seven percentage points to 45 per cent, compared with 38 per cent in 2016-18.
