Wellcome Sanger Institute launches hub aimed at tackling infectious diseases

The Wellcome Sanger Institute has launched a global hub for genomic surveillance to help its partners tackle infectious diseases, including coronavirus and malaria.

The Genomic Surveillance Unit, which opened on 12 July, will work with public health bodies and researchers to help them develop their capabilities to monitor disease-causing microbes, the institute said.
