Wiley and Jisc’s ‘groundbreaking’ OA deal hits a snag

Publishing under the deal will be restricted to researchers supported by certain funders until 2021

Restrictions have been imposed on a “groundbreaking” deal designed to offer researchers at UK universities free open-access publishing in all Wiley journals because of unexpectedly high demand.

In March, UK higher education technology body, Jisc, announced it had signed a four-year deal with Wiley that would cover researchers at UK universities publishing open-access articles in all of the American publisher’s journals without additional payments.
