UKRI sets out next steps for open-access monographs

                    

But expert says fleshing out details including finance is “key” for social sciences and humanities

National R&D funder UK Research and Innovation has set out the next steps for implementing its open-access requirements for monographs.

The requirements, which are set to come into force on 1 January 2024, are part of the funder’s wider open-access policy, which aims to make the research outputs it funds freely and immediately available.
