Plans to boost R&D funding and tax credits, and create ‘UK Arpa’ draw praise
Research leaders have broadly welcomed plans unveiled in the Queen’s Speech to boost science funding—but want more detail on how the government will deliver on its promises.
In the 19 December outline of its priorities, the government promised “investment in infrastructure and world-leading science, research and skills”, including increased tax credits for R&D, a national skills fund and a push for net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
