The government goes back to the drawing board to deliver satellite navigation services
The UK government has confirmed it is exploring “new options” for a homegrown satellite navigation programme, following the country’s decision to stop using the European Union’s Galileo system.
The government said it was looking at “cutting-edge ways to deliver vital sat-nav services to the UK—including the use of satellites at different orbits” through a Space-Based Positioning Navigation and Timing Programme, though it provided no details about the budget for the programme.
