Conservative conference: George Freeman talks up translation of R&D for an ‘innovation nation’

The country’s latest science minister has told the Conservative Party conference that he will zero in on turning scientific discoveries into innovations and ensuring R&D delivers for ordinary people, not just for scientists.

In a series of appearances, George Freeman revealed his plans after his first few weeks in the role, as the sector braces for a crucial spending review later this month.
