UK visa scheme for prizewinners fails to attract any applicants

But Home Office says it has received “thousands of applications” through other Global Talent routes

A post-Brexit visa scheme for prizewinners has failed to attract a single academic since its launch six months ago, according to a report in New Scientist.

Since May, award-winners from across the sciences, humanities, engineering, arts and digital technology have been able to apply to live and work in the UK thanks to changes to the Global Talent visa.
