Conservative candidate Shaun Bailey pledges to boost biomed funding via MedCity cluster five-fold

All four main candidates for the upcoming election for mayor of London have made a variety of pledges relating to research, which range from increasing university resources to curtailing the use of animals in research.

But despite London being one of the world’s major scientific powerhouses, driven largely by its top universities, both research and higher education have had little traction in the 2021 mayoral election debate so far.
