Manifestos to run big university cities of Cambridge, Liverpool and Manchester fall short on R&D

The political manifestos and candidate debates for the mayoral elections in major university and research centres, such Cambridge, Liverpool and Manchester, show little focus on R&D and science.

Most candidates pledging to run those cities have not yet published full manifestos. This week, the Campaign for Science and Engineering wrote to them, urging them to embrace the opportunities offered by science and engineering.
