Brunel University chancellor to head UK Vaccine Taskforce

Announcement comes as government delays ending lockdown by four weeks due to Covid-19 variant

University chancellor Richard Sykes has been appointed the new chair of the government’s Vaccine Taskforce, which aims to procure and deliver vaccines to support the Covid-19 vaccination programme.

Sykes, who conducted an independent review of the strategy and goals of the taskforce in December 2020, is currently a non-executive director of PDS Biotechnology pharma company, president of the Research and Development Society and chancellor of Brunel University.
