Thousands could miss UK’s EU Settlement Scheme deadline

Academics could be left in legal limbo if they miss 30 June cut-off

University employees could be among thousands of European Union nationals who find themselves without a legal immigration status next month.

According to a report by the UK in a Changing Europe research group, which is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, potentially hundreds of thousands of EU citizens could be left in legal limbo after the cut-off date for the EU Settlement Scheme on 30 June.
