Decision to task Paul Nurse with leading another review described as “odd” by one commentator

Policy experts have expressed mixed views on “hasty” plans for a second review of the UK’s R&D system led by Nobel laureate Paul Nurse.

Announced in the government’s recent Innovation Strategy, the review will look across the landscape of organisations undertaking all forms of research, development and innovation, highlighting “strengths to be nurtured and any comparative weaknesses to be tackled”.
