While Kew’s virtual research network launches to protect trees, forests and woodlands

A new £5.8 million laboratory in Surrey will study threats to the UK’s forests from pests and diseases, the government has announced.

Funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Forestry Commission, the Forest Research Holt Laboratory will bring together scientists to carry out research on ongoing pest and disease outbreaks, as well as potential threats from non-native species.
