Refreshed approach highlights women and girls, climate change and global health as key issues

The government has promised increased investment for research and innovation aligned with its international development goals, in a long-awaited strategy announced today.

Alongside an increased focus on trade and investment, the new strategy identifies key challenges—including women and girls, climate change and global health—where research and innovation will play a role. The government has also announced plans for establishing ‘UK Centres of Expertise’ for development issues.
