University leaders call for consultation on longer-term future of UK collaboration scheme

Academic leaders have called on the UK government to immediately provide details of how public funding for international collaboration on research and innovation would replace association to the EU funding programme in the near term.

“Some form of bridging funding, transitional funding—however that’s going to work—needs to happen now,” David Sampson, pro-vice-chancellor for research and innovation at the University of Surrey, said at a Westminster Higher Education Forum policy conference on next steps for international research on 20 June.
