Jenkyns will be minister for skills, with responsibility for higher education

Andrea Jenkyns has officially been named as minister for skills, but ‘higher education’ has been scrapped from her ministerial title.

The Department for Education confirmed on 27 September that Jenkyns has become skills minister—several weeks after she was reappointed as a minister with no confirmed portfolio. Ministerial positions are still being finalised after Liz Truss became prime minister on 5 September, with decisions delayed following the Queen’s death.
