Officials say researchers should “continue to apply” despite uncertainty over association to EU R&I programmes
UK universities are being advised to continue applying for Horizon Europe funding, despite the increasing possibility of non-association.
The country’s association to the EU’s €95.5 billion (£86bn at today’s rate) R&D programme has been held up due to a long-standing dispute over the Northern Ireland Protocol, meaning UK-based applicants have been unable to access any funding they win, although the government has promised to cover the cost for calls which end by 31 December.
