UUK and Russell Group urge ministers to boost funds or risk students dropping out
The government should prioritise increased financial support for students, who are at risk of becoming a “forgotten group” during the cost of living crisis, vice-chancellors have said.
Ministers are expected to deliver an emergency budget on Friday (23 September), and Universities UK—which represents the UK’s vice-chancellors—said failure to support students now might mean that university attendance becomes unaffordable.
