Ministerial and parliamentary science appointments on hold ahead of Queen’s funeral, as universities cancel events
The UK’s R&D sector is anxiously awaiting confirmation of the new science and higher education ministers as the nation mourns the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Following the Queen’s death on 8 September, the UK entered a 10-day period of mourning. As a result, parliamentary business has been postponed, together with any remaining appointments to prime minister Liz Truss’s government.
