New government figures show funding of global health research in 2021 halved from pre-pandemic levels

New UK government figures showing a steep drop in spending on global health research have been branded “shameful”.

Spending on global health research by the foreign office fell by nearly £300 million between 2020-21 and 2021-22, from £372m to £75m, according to its figures released on 17 January.
