UK departments not coordinating on life sciences, says ex-minister

Syed Kamall reveals he has been told departmental efforts are no longer joined up

Former innovation minister Lord Syed Kamall has said there is no coordination across government departments on life sciences.

Kamall (pictured), who was the UK health department’s technology, innovation and life sciences minister from 2021 to 2022, said one of his “frustrations” in the role was that meetings would take place between two or three departments when many different parts of government were working on life sciences.
