Vallance named science minister in Labour government

Former government chief scientific adviser to serve in Starmer ministerial team

Patrick Vallance, the former government chief scientific adviser, has been appointed as science minister in Keir Starmer’s Labour government.

Vallance will be a minister of state in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, serving under secretary of state Peter Kyle, who was also appointed by Starmer on 5 July following Labour’s election win.
