Peers call for more research into underlying processes of ageing

Committee complains of ‘lack of effort’ to ensure that research is properly funded

The UK government must fund more research that targets the underlying processes of ageing, an influential group of peers has said.

This was a key message from the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee’s report following its inquiry on ageing, which aimed to assess the feasibility of the government’s Ageing Society Grand Challenge mission and understand to what extent developments in science and technology will be important in reaching this goal.
