Peers call for more research effort on UK risk preparedness

        

UKRI should “give additional focus to projects which explore the international dimensions of risks”

Peers have called for more research into—and training of experts on—risk science to better prepare the nation for disasters.

The House of Lords Risk Assessment and Risk Planning Committee described the UK’s current risk-management system as “deficient and too inflexible”, adding that the necessary capabilities and skills are “absent or scarce in government”.
