‘Chronic underinvestment’ limits research on eating disorders

          

All-Party Parliamentary Group calls for £100 million to be spent on related R&D annually

An influential group of MPs and interested groups have warned of a “vicious cycle” of underfunding in UK research on eating disorders as they call for a dramatic increase in support.

According to a report from the All-Party Parliamentary Group on eating disorders, UK-based funders invested an average of just £1.13 per person with an eating disorder per year between 2009 and 2019.
