If UK does not associate to EU R&D programme, budget will cover “ambitious alternative”
The UK’s chief secretary to the Treasury confirmed yesterday that the nation is still committed to associating to Horizon Europe—or else using the budget set aside for association to boost science and innovation.
John Glen was responding to a written question on 17 November about whether the chancellor Jeremy Hunt “plans to ringfence funding allocated to Horizon Europe for alternative programmes in the event of the UK no longer being a participant in that programme”.
