Welsh election: Labour promises stronger EU research ties

         

Plaid Cymru, Conservatives and Lib Dems focus on boosting and reforming universities

The ruling Welsh Labour party has pledged to argue for closer research ties with the European Union, as politicians set out their promises to the nation’s voters ahead of the 6 May election.

Labour is the dominant political force in the devolved nation, but is currently short of a majority in the Senedd, sharing power with the Liberal Democrats.
