But leaders of £134 million project blame Covid on delays to R&D it funds

A government-backed expert network which funds vaccine R&D “moderately failed to meet expectations”, according to a review of its performance, as some projects were put back a year with others still running.

But leaders of the UK Vaccine Network—which invests in projects looking at diseases of epidemic potential in low- and middle-income countries—have blamed the Covid-19 pandemic for delays to R&D in 2020-21.
