Leyser ‘entirely agnostic’ over where Arpa sits in R&D system

UKRI chief executive tells conference her views on innovation, genetic modification and the spending review

The chief executive of UK Research and Innovation has said she is “entirely agnostic” about where the government’s planned Advanced Research Projects Agency will sit within the research ecosystem.

Her comments come amid an ongoing debate over whether the planned £800 million agency for “high-risk, high-reward” research should sit within UKRI or not.
