UK and US agree to cooperate on research commercialisation

Agreement includes staff exchanges between technology transfer offices

The UK’s national research funder, UK Research and Innovation, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the US Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology to collaborate on research commercialisation.

The organisations will initially work together to facilitate staff exchanges between technology transfer offices, to map and analyse regional innovation and its economic impact, and to share best practice on metrics, UKRI announced on 19 November.
