Large British involvement in proposals for European Research Council call comes despite association worries
UK institutions are co-leading 147 applications to the European Research Council’s 2022 Synergy Grants call, second only to Germany with 154 applications, the ERC has revealed.
Unlike most ERC grants, which support single researchers, Synergy Grants give teams of two to four principal investigators up to €14 million for work on projects too ambitious to be tackled by any individual alone.
