UKRI to overhaul grant rules to back technicians

  

Funder promises to raise visibility of technicians and support their career development through sector-wide framework

The UK’s national research funding agency has promised more recognition, visibility and support for the technicians it funds, including by making changes to grant rules and the Research Excellence Framework.

UK Research and Innovation’s 5 February action plan outlines how it will honour the Technician Commitment, an initiative launched in 2017 to support technicians in higher education and research.
