Oxford professor Kevin Marsh says cuts to aid-funded research suggests shift in government priorities
A member of an influential advisory group to the UK’s national funding agency has resigned over cuts to aid-funded research, branding the cuts a “disaster”.
“It is hard to overstate the negative impact on both globally important research and on the lives and careers of researchers in the UK and across the world, many of whom are effectively facing summary dismissal,” wrote Kevin Marsh, professor of tropical medicine at the University of Oxford, in a 30 March letter to UKRI, seen by Research Professional News.
