Funder removes eligibility cap for new investigator grants to make scheme as “open as possible”
A move to broaden eligibility for a research council grant scheme that provides up to £2 million over five years to early career researchers will help tackle structural inequalities in science, researchers have said.
On 13 January, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council scrapped a time-limit requirement for applicants to its New Investigator grants which asked for them to have held a lecturer-level position for fewer than three years.
