White men made up over half of UKRI-funded PIs in 2020-21

Latest diversity data shows continued under-representation of women, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities

Over half of principal investigators awarded funding in 2020-21 by UK Research and Innovation were white men, according to diversity data published by the national research funding agency.

For the first time, UKRI has published data on the intersection of gender with ethnicity, age and disability.
