Calls mount for UKRI to ‘cut ties’ with Researchfish

Union joins those saying funder should abandon online service following Twitter controversy

The UK’s largest higher education union has joined academics calling on the national research funder to cut ties with Researchfish, after the funder admitted it encouraged the impact-tracking service to report those tweeting critical comments.

Researchfish was accused of bullying and intimidation last month after it said it had reported a handful of researchers to their funders for posting critical Twitter posts about the service.
