MPs approve new Research England chair

Jessica Corner gets approval following appearance before House of Commons Science and Technology Committee

MPs have endorsed the appointment of Jessica Corner as the new chair of Research England—the UK’s biggest public research funder, which jointly manages the country’s mammoth research-assessment exercise.

Following her appearance before the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee, MPs sent a report to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy outlining that they were satisfied that Corner was competent for the role.
