Funder fears UK will be “left behind” on biomedical data, despite world-leading potential

A review from the national R&D funder UK Research and Innovation has called for “urgent” action to improve biomedical data science in the country.

The report, published on 28 July, said that multiple sectors had been “transformed” by data science and that there is a “real risk” that biomedical research in the UK will be “left behind” as other countries develop in this area.
