UKRI to broaden eligibility criteria of its grants to boost diversity

More roles to be eligible as project leaders on grants under funder’s new action plan

National funder UK Research and Innovation has committed to broadening the eligibility criteria for its grants as part of plans to build a diverse and inclusive R&D system.

In its people and teams action plan the funder said it will test a grant roles policy with “more roles eligible to apply as project leaders and a wider range of roles and contributors that can be requested as part of our new funding service”.
