Soas researchers aim for bigger slice of funding

Plans to grow research income with rewards and incentives for staff who aim high

Academics at Soas, University of London are being encouraged to bid for bigger research grants as part of a drive to increase the institution’s income from research.

Soas vice-chancellor Adam Habib told Research Professional News that the university hadn’t “been as supportive of people going after big grants or medium-sized grants” as it could have been, but with a few changes it could “start making research an income stream, as it is in many other universities in the UK”.
