Global initiative forms to counter rising number of ransomware attacks on universities
Institutions fighting cybercrime in countries including Australia, Canada, the UK and US have launched a joint initiative to share information and counter attacks on university systems.
The initiative, which so far includes five universities and security firms, will use the MISP open-source platform to share information on threats, especially the rising number of ransomware attacks the sector is facing, according to a release from the UK’s higher education IT agency, Jisc, which is one of the participants.
