Russell Group is the latest to call for government rethink of proposed changes
Institutions in the Russell Group have joined the chorus of disapproval over the government’s proposed changes to teacher training, saying they could “stifle innovation” and threaten the UK’s leading position in the field.
The group of 24 research-intensive universities said that the plan for teacher education in England “threatens…the nation’s contributions to the international research and evidence base in the field”, meaning that England’s reputation for teacher training will suffer.
