A third of students ‘skipping lectures’ because of rising costs

Cost of living crisis forcing students to stay at home, ONS research finds

Almost a third of students say they are skipping some lectures and tutorials in order to save money, experimental data from the Office for National Statistics suggest.

In a survey exploring how the crisis might affect students’ finances, some 29 per cent of respondents reported that they were skipping non-mandatory lectures and tutorials to save on costs, while 40 per cent were studying more at home for the same reason.
